Beijing 2008 is an excellent game that is well made, challenging and fun to play.
Each event has been lovingly recreated with excellent graphics and intuitive control sytems that are varied enough to make each set of events feel individual. The trigger release system for the sprints and swims is an excellent new addition to the standard button mashing that would normally be the only aspect of this event.
Achievement wise, this can be an absolute mission, I think I'd played it a week and still didn't have any. However, once you get into it the achievements are perfectly balanced in my opinion, there are all doable but challenging meaning only the persistant will come away with the prizes. As such this is a very note worthy and satisfying 1000.
This game really comes into it's own as a multi-player game. Whether you play over live or with a few mates this is a great game for some quick competitive action, although everyone will get a sore arm if played for over an hour.
There are some down points, Judo is a joke event, completely pointless. When you do the Decathlon or Heptathlon you get different charcters for each of the events which is odd and would have been very easy to fix. Also you can't name your start height for the high jump and pole vault and have to accept or reject each height starting from the lowest. To be honest though these are only minor niggles.
