From what I read, he's confirmed that there is a fee, and each one is licensed to a profile. You can trade it in, but you pay a fee.
I've stopped trading in games for what they offer, so it won't affect me much. However, there are people who rely on this to buy new games. Disappointing.
Did you read about the potential to have constant achievement additions? Kinda scared about seasonal achievements or achievements based on memes, etc.
For this I am glad I am not a completionist.

I didn't expect anything gaming, to see things on the sports titles and even Cod was surprising. Start the new countdown!
confirm the "always on" rumor. Which could make every game susceptible to "server outages". =/

a lot of the services will be tied to the cloud. this is a surprise? doesn't mean it won't play games/dvds/bds without a connection.

Also, I keep saying this, we're not the target audience. Gamers will buy a gaming console. This conference was about attracting new eyes and getting a pop.

because those are not core features. they talked about 4 or 5 major selling points and left it at that. you leave them wanting more, not bore them to death with details

I get where the industry is right now, you know I do, I can't help but know, but from where 'I is' playing my games from right now, I need that core-goodness in my life.

Gaming consoles have pretty much always had low end gaming PC Tech. It's dedicated hardware, so they can do that.
The backwards compatibility thing being what it is, I'll be waiting on this. Still looking forward to what they bring to E3, though!
When they announced it, the presenter stated that he was: "A Comcast subscriber" and this is what he has for live TV...if that is any indication :)

I don't know, because where can you go from "Infinity"? Infinity +1, of course, but with One they can start fresh with their new "All in One" mantra.
Of course, the generation after will be difficult because if they call it Xbox Two, they'll need a silly tagline like "Two-gether as One". Hmm... What's their number? ;)

I've also just hooked my N64 and Gamecube up again, so I can get back in to Harvest Moon and I need to buy some more N64 games because Goldeneye is unplayable now.
I remember playing a game called Blast Corps for the N64. I had a ton of fun haha.
Stop the nostalgia! I don't want to have to dig all of that out of my closet :P. Especially Animal Crossing or Pokemon. Those games have consumed too much of my time!
And then someone had to go and mention Blast Corps... Rare needs to do an HD remake of that!

Not yet, I believe they're released in October. I stopped the same time as you, so after buying a DS, the first games I got were HeartGold and White. :D

I got HeartGold a couple days after it came out as Gold was my favourite. Only ever ended up beating the first gym in the remake :P
Gold was definitely the best one. The day and night cycle was brilliant, and getting to go back to Kanto was an awesome surprise!
The only issue I have with White so far is that I don't know ANY of these new Pokemon. There are just way too many to keep track of now. 251 was enough for Gold. :P
That's mostly why I quit playing. Ended up getting getting diamond for various reasons, but barely played it, unlike the previous games. Too many new pokemon,
too quick, with too little love for the previous generations/regions/pokemon. I may give x or y a try, just because of how good they looked, not sure yet.
I've seen some of the new Pokemon for X and Y and I'm not impressed. Mainly the new MewTwo form and that new Eevee evolution. They just don't look good at all.
I've only seen the Mewtwo form and I agree. They shouldn't try to introduce a new version of Mew, because they were so unique.
