Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Was Lackluster
I've been pretty excited for MGSV for a while and thought the game would trump my favorite in that franchise, MGS3 Snake Eater. Upon my starting the game, I was thoroughly excited to see what was in store. The game started off well, but it gradually entered a downward spiral where the story was concerned. When they introduce
as a plot device, things started to get absurd. Even for MGS standards. When
, I was pretty much baffled by the insane deus ex machina being pulled off in front of me. Two of the biggest loads of crap in the game however?
Now don't get me wrong. The game is very fun to play and I love playing it. Managing Mother Base is enjoyable and the gameplay itself is a nice diversion from your standard MGS style of play. But the story was just so bad to me, I can't believe it was even put out like this. To make matters worse, the ending feels supremely incomplete. There is honestly much more things I have a problem with involving the story, but these are just my tired thoughts at 5:30am.
