Gaming Review - November 2013
Time for another blog. So this month I started out finishing up some things in Batman: Arkham Origins
. I played this game intermittently throughout the month. While I haven't completed it yet, I did manage to finish all challenges, new game plus, miscellaneous achievements and make it 70% of the way through I am the Night Mode.
I was invited to join in on Glacier Blast (W8)
by a friend and completed that in nearly 1 sitting. If the servers didn't drop out for the night I would have completed in 1 sitting. It's a shitty game and I don't recommend it for anything other than a quick achievement fix.
I joined a session for Red Faction: Guerrilla
and quickly stomped out my last 21 ranked wins, and grinded out 16m points of Destruction to complete this game. I loved the single player campaign in this and the multiplayer wasn't bad.
Next I took a few days to finish up Quantum of Solace (PC)
online with 2 of my friends. While it didn't take that long, I hated this multiplayer and it bored me to death. The campaign was pretty good and I will do the Xbox version of this game down the road.
I popped in Star Wars Clone Wars: Republic Heroes
as it was my game out from Gamefly. I completed it in 2 sittings. It amazed me how much better the PC version's controls were. I took the time to make an excel spreadsheet for the game documenting in an orderly fashion the things needed to 100% the game and posted it in several solutions for both versions of the game. I've now completed both of these and have another "Stack."
A couple of friends and I whipped out all the achievements in Blacklight Tango Down (PC)
minus the rank ones in a couple hours. The game is a pretty standard first person shooter, with no real unique qualities. I'm not looking forward to the grinding required to finish the rest of this game.
My friend and I got down on finishing Resident Evil 5 (PC)
and my opinion of the game completely changed. I went from hating it to being quite fond of it. I will definitely play the Xbox version down the road. Fun game. Completed this is a few short days.
I started Iron Brigade (PC)
and completed it within a few days. I found the game to be unique and of good quality (as are most things by Double Fine). It got quite monotonous by the end, but it's over now.
There were no other completions for me this month but I did manage to earn some achievements in Bulletstorm (PC), Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader: Game Time,
and popped 18/20 achievements in Uno & Friends (W8)
Among the games I started were: Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet (PC), Lego Marvel Superheroes, Operation Flashpoint: Red River (PC) and Rocket Riot (WP)
My stats for the month:
Jake2355 won 215 Achievements in 15 games, for a total of 7,461 TrueAchievement points (3,755 GamerScore).
I completed 4/7 of my monthly goals and came close on some others.
New Monthly Goals:
Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet (PC)
Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader: Game TimeLego Marvel Superheroes
Toy Soldiers (PC)
Bulletstorm (PC) - Single Player Only
Chronicles of Riddick - Assault on Dark Athena - Online Only
