Never ended up sniping (successfully). I eventually got it on an assault rifle kill. So any weapon, as long as it's a headshot, counts. Was very happy to get it! :)

Da0l0th, if either of us get one we should equip, fire it, pop achievement, then trade it to the other person so they can too. Could do that for the whole clan
