Overview: Minecraft is one of my favorite games of all time: no other experience will make you lose track of time like Minecraft. Hours of your life will vanish before your eyes as you are enthralled in improving your world. If you haven’t heard of Minecraft, or even played it, you must be living under a rock (it's the highest-selling video game of all time). I enjoyed Minecraft: Xbox One Edition so much, that I had my original Xbox One just to play it! Now, Minecraft: Xbox One Edition isn't updated anymore. Instead, we have the game I am currently reviewing, Minecraft. Minecraft provides a vastly different experience from a lot of other things on the market. It also has more replay value than any other game that exists!

There are endless possibilities to explore in Minecraft, from building big cities with skyscrapers reaching the height limit to fighting “the final boss,” the Ender Dragon. Each Minecraft world could be played differently. There is a large speedrun community for Minecraft, usually to beat the Ender Dragon the fastest. However, people also speedrun other stuff in Minecraft that isn't so common. Speedrunning isn't the only way to play, though. Most people have never actually fought the Ender Dragon, but just because you haven't done that, doesn't mean you can't have fun. A large portion of Minecraft players love to build and prefer not to try to fight the Ender Dragon, but instead, just try to have fun in their own way. But, in my opinion, the most exciting part of Minecraft is exploring. While exploring you can find so much cool stuff, from villages to Woodland Mansions. Villages are little pre-built towns that can be found around the map. Inside of the villages are villagers, Minecraft's non-hostile mobs that players trade with. One of the key parts of trading with villagers is Emeralds, a very rare ore that can be obtained through trade, or mined in mountain regions. Just thinking about what can be out there in your Minecraft world is so fun to consider!

Creative Mode: For those of you who want to play casually, and without the risk of fighting and dying, then Creative mode is great for you. You can freely access anything you want from Survival mode and build your dream Minecraft. (Achievements can not be earned in creative mode. As soon as a world is changed to creative, it therefore voids any achievements.) People make wild stuff in Minecraft, like Mansions, Parkour Maps, Giant Roller Coaster, etc. I find creative pretty fun to do, but I would prefer survival if I had to choose one or the other.

Replay Value: This game has great replay value with a friend, or even by yourself. Even after completing all achievements, it's honestly hard to not keep playing this game. It is constantly updated, adding many new things with each update. However, there are some downsides to constant updates. First, and pretty much the only problem, is that once a world is started, a new item can only be found in an unexplored part of your world, making it often difficult to keep one survival world for very long.

Servers: Another great thing about Minecraft is that they have "servers." Servers are online multiplayer game modes that always are a good time. Basically, in server, you can play all sorts of mini games, from Hunger Games, Murder Mystery and Deathruns, to Block Hunt, a Minecraft version of Prop Hunt. Most Servers have party systems, making it easy to play with friends, and very enjoyable. New Servers are added all the time, bringing new mini games to enjoy!

Achievements: Most people reading this will probably want to know about achievements. If you are playing survival mode for fun, a good amount of the achievements will unlock. If there are achievements that you are struggling on, there is a really helpful achievement world @Itzz Sh0wt1m3 that you can unlock any achievement on. However, some achievements are grindy, such as "Master Trader" (Trade for 1,000 Emeralds). Even if using the achievement world, this achievement will certainly be a grind. *This achievement is also not required for a completion, as it is in a DLC by itself called 1.11.1: Village & Pillage

Achievements Continued: There are also some achievements that require multiple players (2 achievements). Some other achievements are actually surprisingly difficult to do if you're not using the Achievement World. However, some of these difficult achievements are featured in the DLCs, as there are currently 13 DLC packs. The base game contains 79 achievements, and the hardest achievement in it is probably the "Super Sonic" achievement!

Marketplace: Oh boy, where do I even begin with the Marketplace? Let me begin by saying that a very large majority of items in the Marketplace must be bought with Minecraft's in-game currency: Minecoin. In the marketplace, you can purchase skin packs, which include different outfits usable in your Minecraft World! Some skin packs are inspired by real movies, such as Star Wars and Toy Story! Also in the marketplace, you can buy texture packs, which reskin all blocks and items, giving them a new look! You can also pick up entire worlds, which range from Adventure Maps to Mini-Games to Survival Worlds! In my opinion, grabbing any item from the marketplace will certainly enhance your Minecraft experience!

I strongly hope I convinced you to get Minecraft if you didn't have it already! toast

DigiMatmonMinecraft is truly a fun and addictive game. My fiance and I have a realm where we spent to much time that I care to admit.

I love the guide that is provided for this game where you just enter the world designed solely for getting achievements.

zero cool 4406According to wikipedia, Minecraft is the highest selling game of all time. Tetris, whilst in the hands of more people, has been made free to many of those, so they don't count, and it has come in dozens of different types and formats whereby they cannot classify them as being the same game. So only the original Tetris and it's actual sales are counted.

Minecraft is the best-selling game that was released a little over a decade ago. Since then, it has captivated the gaming industry as a whole, pulling in fans of nearly every genre. After seeing plenty of platform releases, the latest console version of Minecraft brought down the walls of Xboxes, PlayStations, and even Nintendo consoles. But for a single game that's been relevant for so long now, how much longer can Minecraft really hold out?

This being an open sandbox game, there isn't so much a story in Minecraft as there are things to do. Players are given the chance to create, destroy, adventure, trade, survive, and fight their way all around the open world. With the world generation feature, no two playthroughs in Minecraft will ever be the same. This means that players can explore their own unique versions of the Overworld, the Nether, and the End, and all the strange and beautiful biomes that come with them.

Players also don't have to spend their time alone. Having done away with the older versions' Battle Mode, players can now pop into hubs that lead them into even more mini-games to play. There is also a Realm feature, which allows anyone to purchase their own server that will stay active for their own select group of friends to join. And in case that isn't enough, up to eight players can play in the same basic Minecraft world at the same time.

As with most sandbox games like this, what keeps bringing people back are the updates. Over the years Minecraft has received several, and they each come with their unique theme. At the time of this review's creation, the most recent update, titled Caves and Cliffs, raised the world height, and also lowered the world depth. It also introduced the Warden, a powerful new entity that lingers in mines. Updates like this are why people will never completely lose interest in Minecraft, but at the same time, one may also wonder if it's a good enough long-term plan.

On one hand, what made Minecraft so popular was the simplicity of it all. One could argue that at this point, the Minecraft we have now is too far from the one we had at the start. For instance, Diamond used to be the most coveted object in the game, and while it is still highly sought after, it has since been dethroned by Netherite. With all the updates being planned and released, it presents the question of whether or not the core game will even be relevant in the next five years or so.

I think Minecraft as a game is a great example of something that everyone should try, even if they don't come out liking it in the end. For that reason alone, I think Minecraft deserves a perfect score. It was extremely innovative for it's time, it offers a vast variety of experiences each time you play it, and it has stuck around much longer than I think anyone expected it to. But I'm not reviewing just Minecraft, I'm reviewing this specific import of it.

To me, the developers need to find a way to implement mod support. The updates do a lot in terms of introducing new elements, but mod support would be a literal game changer if they could figure it out. Shaders, custom textures, sounds, stories, etc. There is a whole other side of Minecraft waiting to be explored in the form of mods. It massively improved the general interest in Skyrim, and I guarantee it would do the same here. Considering how big this game is to some people, I'm surprised there isn't even a whole separate edition of the game just for mods themselves.

Achievement wise, Minecraft is a hassle. There are some pretty basic achievements for just doing certain basic things, but after that stuff starts to get complicated. You have to do everything that a basic Minecraft world has to offer, and considering the sheer amount of things that have been added in, that's asking a lot. Not to mention, some achievements that require pretty rare situations, are a little buggy. Meaning you could have to do some of them twice, or three times, or even not get one to unlock at all. A good exampled of that last one is the Map Room achievement, which is bugged for a buddy of mine and won't unlock.

Minecraft is a title that I recommend to any gamer. If this so happens to be the version you chose, there's not much wrong with it. You will still get the same experience as most. But the lack of mod support hurts, especially considering how advanced consoles have become. Despite that, Minecraft is still a fantastic experience, and now not even the barriers of separate platforms can keep you from playing with friends, and that in itself is a huge bonus.

For me "Minecraft" is a top tier game, one of the best ever made, I have completed it on Windows and xbox, unlocked all achievements, I love how it can be whatever game you want it to be, from a casual chill game to a solid action game, every update has improved the game, although I find the achievements sometimes disappointing, for example the achievement for trading at the height limit or getting an allay to drop a cake, these aren't challenging, they're just silly, personally I'd love an update that allowed you to recruit villagers, arm them and become a ruler of the village, having NPCs who can mine for you and defend a town with you from a pillager raid, kinda sucks that they're defenceless and the iron Golum is good but having armed villagers would have been better. That aside I hope we get more updates for this great game, maybe more achievements too that encourage players to be creative and build/explore rather than just silly achievements like getting frogs to eat magma cubes just to get lamps.. mojang can keep this game going for many years if they keep including fans in the updates.

Oh this game is wonderful if, like me, have a passion to be creative. Minecraft is an art, and very fun with realms. Multiplayer minecraft can be extremely enjoyable, it is riddle with microtransactions like emotes, skins, and realms (Which is kind of understandable).

I've spent 370+ hours, just online. That doesnt count offline hours which is probably 200 more! Then that's just xbox one. I have almost 600 hours on java, 800 on xbox 360 and 50 on moblie. I've spent a loooong time on. I've enjoyed every second of it. It's definitely worth the cheap price minecraft has. Much more enjoyable then AAA games.

Minecraft's achievements are very easy to get if you used a realm like I did. Although the large majority of them unlocked, six of them did not. For a fair warning here they are:

    Iron Belly - 20G
    Artificial Selection - 30G
Where have you been? - 20G
    Sound the Alarm! - 20G
    Sound of Music - 10G
    Birthday Song - 10G

I hope you don't have problems with these as I did, other than that brilliant game that I have been playing for years on end, but at this point who hasn't?
I give Minecraft a 4.5 only because the glitched achivments annoyed me.

    Happy Hunting
