About time i got round to finishing this off.
Signed.
They haven't even confirmed the used game fee...

Their answers have been ambigous at best, double-speak. They are probably "testing the waters". We need to make the waters as fucking shark-filled as possible
Better to fight the battle before launch then have to undo what is already done after launch.
Sorry but I'm aggressive/proactive by nature.
As the medical saying goes: An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
Umm, actually they have stated there will be a "digital permission" required to play the disc. If you buy the disc new, then permission is given. If you want to play
another person's disc in your Xbox you will have to pay a "digital permission". They discussed this in standard legalize (extensively without stating much
of anything at all). At the end of the day the only reason to bring up such nonsense is to slap us with a used game fee.
I also like this harrison guy's comments here: http://venturebeat.com/2013/05/23/phil-harrison-says-microsoft-will-invest-1b-in-games-for-xbox-one-interview/
He's trying to pretend it's "just like today". He glosses over the fact that if you loan your game to a friend, they CANNOT PLAY IT without either A: your gamertag or
B: paying a fee. B-U-L-L-S-H-I-T
Quoting the specific comment in my blog for those that are interested.
It's as close to confirming the used game fee as we've gotten so far. I guarantee you it's there, they just don't want people to realize it until it's too late.
He did mention that you can give the disc to your kid and they can play it on another xbox in the house without a fee.
What I'm wondering is if there is going to be some kind of rfid thing in the disc, or if that means that the kids account is going to have to be linked to yours somehow.
I just hope it's not a well they can do it but have to use your account. Because that defeats the purpose of having separate accounts like ms wants.
It would also end up costing them money on Gold accounts for a lot of kids as well.

My goal at this point is to try to create so much furor, they backtrack on the whole goddamn idea entirely (if they even can at this point in production).
@ Bachlott - no, he said his kid could play on the SAME system, not another one. This implies that the account with the license would not to be signed in for the child...
...to have access to the game itself.
If I have a physical disc in my hand, I shouldn't have to sign on to ANY goddamn profile. I should be able to play it on an offline profile just like I do now on my 360.
This is essentially FORCING xbox live on people, and not allowing you to loan games to friends, and not allowing used game sales or gifting old games to people without a
*would HAVE TO BE* - where is my mind today...
Microsoft middle man, a fee of some sort.
Don't forget to forward the petition to your friends those of you that sign. I've got less than 100 friends here on TA, only networking will get word out big enough.
He DID say the kid could take the game to another xbox in the house, but he qualified it with "anyone whose profile is associated with THAT xbox one" meaning the one it
Was originally installed on, meaning that tags would have to be somehow associated with each other in a household or something, but that still doesn't let you loan a game
To a friend that isn't in your household, or sell a game via private party transaction without a fee paid to microsoft for the buyer to be able to play the damn thing.
And it also means that those tags in that household would need xbox live connectivity on all consoles in the house, which is asenine.
If I own the physical copy, under First Sale Doctrine I have unlimited rights of use of said copy, and by imposing need for XBL connectivity, they are infringing on that
Easy solution to all this. Vote with your wallet. Instead of getting a Xbox One, get a PS4 or build a gaming PC and get Steam. Hell, get a Wii U. Or just stay on your 360
Since the majority of games will be cross gen anyways. The only thing you will be missing is better graphics and dynamic achievements
Oh I know Rand. If they go through with this crap I've already said I will speak with my wallet and skip next gen all together.
I'm just HOPING I won't have to. I'm hoping if enough hell is raised they'll back down, so that I can buy a next gen console in good conscience.
I'm not one of those people that will raise hell then turn around and buy their shit anyway. If it violates my principles, it will be a NO GO for me.
The used game fee is the most important issue for me. I need to see what it entails. I need to know if Sony is doing a similar thing.
I have a feeling that the used game thing is system wide thing on the Xbone and on a game by game basis on the PS4.
We already know the PS4 will be a beast of a gaming machine. Much more powerfull than the Xbone so if Sony doesn't do the used game thing, I might have to think about
switching for this upcoming gen. I don't want to. But it seems that MS might be forcing the issue
When it comes down to it I'd never switch to play station, but I might just buy an xbox one for the blu ray and some cool exclusives, other than that I'll stick with 360
I know you can do them solo, but I lost my save so I don't have all the maps unlocked.
Definitely game of the year 2011!! No more RPG's for a while.
