Starting from scratch
So I decided to take the plunge and get into Twitch streaming - and loved every minute of it!!
Being filmed and knowing I'm being watched is my idea of literal hell due to my anxiety (which I've discussed elsewhere) but streaming is something I've wanted to try. So instead of spending ridiculous money on a set up, I simply got a second hand Kinect, connected it up and went for it.
So far I've done 2; 1 was playing Jackbox Party games, the other was a fresh play through of Star Trek Online (titled "The adventures of M.C Wotsee") The second one was very hard as no one was in chat and very few people watching so keeping the energy levels up was difficult. But I still had a blast doing it.
I've learned that the Kinect mic is really not good but apparently I can use the headset so I'll be trying that next time, and I'm limited to XBox One games as I use the app; but I'm happy to discover these issues now and work on them as I build the confidence up. I only stream once a week for this reason too.
I'm hoping once I've moved house I can have my own room to stream as opposed to my living room and have a proper set up (Mic, camera, OBS, TwitchAlerts etc.) but for now, just me and a Kinect camera in the living room starting from scratch.
