Tired of hearing people cry already about Backwards Compatibility. The new console is better off without having to limit itself to play old games. Just keep your 360!

Agree. Due to my ever increasing back log won't be picking it up until I catch up on all my 360 games.
With my backlog, I'll be picking up an Xbox One in 2020. :)

Was that one of the rumors as well? I was actually wondering how we would recover our gamertags back and forth from the 360 to the new console.
since one of the rumors was no backwards compatibility. I won't quit gaming tho, just grab a PS4 instead and play for fun instead of achievements/trophies.
It's not going to happen, considering they've integrated xbox live and gamertags into almost everything they make now

Here is another concern... I have like 30 games on my shelf I still need to do. Will I still be able to do them and add the gamerscore to my card?
I'm pretty sure it is going to work exactly the same as how they have added GFWL, WP and Win 8 games, not going to change anything.
It would make sense to have the 360 and new gen share the same gamer tag, it's like having a PAL and Jap console. I hope anyways

You guys realize gamertags went from the original Xbox to the 360 back in the day. No reason they'd start you over. As far as achievements go, I don't know.
What the deuce. Just went to lunch because the ads said the reveal was at noon EST, only to log in and see it changed to 1 PM EST? Blah.
Guess I'll read the bad news later and start working on my PS3 exclusives instead of wasting time on achievements because of my rage towards microsoft.

But NO backwards compatibility, FML.
The backwards compatibility upsets me, because I don't want to have to keep switching between boxes. Be easier to just swap out the disc on the same box.
The biggest thing I still want to know is if they really are going to let developers add achievements any time they want, without DLC. That bothers me.
Then you end up with shit like id Software did with Rage, adding a new difficulty and achievement for it 14 months after the game came out forcing me to play it again.
Backwards compatibility would hinder the system so I think it is a smart move to do away with it.
Maybe it would hinder the system down, but it could cause some problems having the same gamertag on different Gen xboxes.
And eventually xbox live won't be viable for the 360, just like the original
Isn't your Xbox Live account now integrated into your Windows Live account? In theory, as long as Windows (and Windows Live) exists, it shouldn't be a problem.
In reality, things don't always pan out the way they should. We'll see which way it goes, I guess.
I want to finish the games on my shelf before I buy a new system. I don't have the time to really game as often as I would like to anyway, so fuck the 720 (for now)
