Xbox 1 Ps 4
So E3 happened and we learnt so much..... The biggest news is that our beloved XBOX is alive and well and fighting back with a vengeance. We all remember Don Mattrick standing on stage 3 years ago saying " so you don't have wi-fi, and you live on a submarine. Don't panic we have xbox 360 for you"
. XBOX has been trying to rebuild its reputation since that fateful day and although we may never close the gap on PS4, thanks to our current leader Phil Spencer we can as XBOX fans finally rest in the knowledge that our console is back and better than ever!!!!
The fans that stayed the course after that fateful night will its fair to say be happy with what they have had over the last 3 years and now we are really getting what we wanted from Microsoft which is amazing games, easy navigation on the home screen and no need for Kinect (yay). Opening the show with the announcement of the XBOX S system was a great way to start as it gives us as customers more choice in our systems and extra space on our shelves. With the system launching at the lowest possible price this August and being in a cool white colour we can argue that size does not matter!!!!. Whether it makes us all run to the retailer to buy one to replace our current system is still to be decided but I loved the announcement of customisable official controllers, that there is a day one purchase.
Gears 4 looked amazing and was great to see campaign footage, the weather really looked like it will actually affect gameplay rather than being just an added feature. Personally I was just happy to not see any more of those bloody lambent enemies and instead seeing Gears returning to its roots, will Marcus Fenix be playable at some point of the game?, does it matter?? If this is a new Gears then should we leave previous characters in the past?. Personally I never wanted to play as Adam Fenix in Gears 3 but this is of course the badass himself Marcus!!!!. I have yet to buy an Elite pad, now I'm pre ordering the Gears version immediately as the features of the Elite pad were always amazing but now with that added Gears goodness this is impossible to turn down.
My game of show was undoubtedly Forza Horizon 3. Australia is the new location with drop in co-op now at the touch of a button and the best visuals I have ever seen on any racer. It is amazing how Turn 10 and Microsoft just know how to deliver excellence in this series, giving us those tiny improvements year by year makes a huge difference and has kept me personally as a day 1 player for the last 9 years. Kangaroo's need to watch out when I am offroading. Not to ramble on and on, more to come as the days go by but so far Microsoft has done an amazing job.
