LoveFilm Review - Disc #2 - Splinter Cell Conviction
This was the second game I was sent, and I have to say I wasn't expecting much from it. However, it turned out to be, in my opinion, a very good game and one which is completely different to any others.
There are two ways to treat the game. The first is as it was meant to be played, as a third-person stealth game, where the best option isn't always to kill enemies. The second is as a third-person shooter. I recommend playing it in the first way I mentioned, as a stealth game.
The game makes you feel like a complete bad-ass, neutralizing enemies without being noticed before headshotting their friends, or taking out somebody from a window ledge and then dropping to stealthily kill a buddy on the ground.
Unfortunately, the single-player is quite short and can be completed all too quickly. However, there are several other modes available. Hunter, Last Stand and Face-Off are all new modes, and the only one I played (Face-Off) is like a team deathmatch on a map filled with other enemies and is quite fun.
There is also a completely separate co-op mode, with a completely different storyline and new characters. I only played the first mission before my friend left, but it was enough time to see how good the game was. There are only four missions but it still adds more meat to the experience.
Finally, the game also offers a lot of replayability value as each mission can be played in several different ways.
