Toy Story Mania! is one of those games best suited for casual events and to play with friends.

It's also possible to say that it's a game for kids, not only because of the obvious characters involved, but also for the low complexity of its mini-games.

You can play it with a regular controller (best) or with your body through Kinect. There are 5 different themes to choose from, each containing a series of booths with carnival games where you basically keep shooting stuff at different things (balls against plates, darts against balloons, etc) and getting points for it. Unfortunately, the fun in doing so wears off quite fast and there isn't much else to do afterwards.

"Adventure mode" consists on visiting each of those booth themes in a sequence. On "Free Play" you can choose the game that you specifically want to play among those same ones. There's a third option that is for parties and will keep playing a different game type after another, randomly selecting them.

Despite its apparent replay value, unless you have a good reason to keep playing it after that (let's say your kid is developing its motor coordination), you'll probably put it aside for good once you're done with the achievements, if you're a completionist.

In the end, TSM is a game that reminded me of my Mario Party (for the Wii) good times, although being a lot simpler than that other one. I'll give it 2 stars since it's not what I consider a full game to keep someone sufficiently entertained, but at least its achievements are very reasonable and casual.
