RB and GHWT progress and what comes after (and inbetween)
I'm not getting a lot of new achievements lately, as some of you have probably noticed. The reason is pretty simple: I'm working on RB1 and GHWT.
Rock Band 1 progressI never really thought that anything could be more boring than boosting Bioshock 2 or Gears of War 2, but I'm sadly mistaken: playing Rock Band 1 is much more boring. While I like rhythm games a lot (there's a reason for having 13K gamer score made up solely from rhythm games), Rock Band's "Big in ____" achievements are a grind. Single song set lists are fine, but I find no joy in playing 18 songs back to back. I can't
wait for the Endlist setlist!
What really ticks me off is how often a song repeats. I can play five gigs in a row and get the same song every single time.
Current progress: 4 cities complete and 13 cities left. That's a lot of gigs. But, not grinding all of the time makes it somewhat bearable.
Is anyone interested in boosting the 20 wins with me?
Guitar Hero World Tour progressThis is going much more smoothly than RB1. At this rate, I'll finish this long before I'll wrap up RB1. I have a little bit over $720K at this point, so the end is nigh. If I were to boost this with just Dammit on XBass and Beginner Vocals, then it'll take me 13 hours of straight playing assuming I FC the bass line every single time.
Of course I don't play straight because there is a limit on to how much Blink-182 I can take (and it's pretty low).
It's better than doing RB1. I wish I could wrap up RB1 in a 13 hour grind. :P
After thatAlan Wake will be tackled. It's been unplayed for far too long. After that, possible candidates for obliteration are Rock Band 2, Dragon Age 2 and Borderlands and any of the unplayed games in my previous blog post (or perhaps some others that aren't mentioned there).
And then there's whatever is yet to be released: Duke Nukem Forever (which I'll get out of sheer pity), Elder Scrolls 5, Gears 3, Rocksmith (depending on how it turns out) and Battlefield 3, just to name a few.
Too many games, too little time. :P
