BioShock DLC Frustration
I've had this game since launch day back in 2007. Played, and beaten it, many times. Tonight I decided to come back to BioShock, grab the last 3 achievements, and then wrap this game up for good. Sadly, one of the options needed for the
Brass Balls achievement, Disable Vita-Chambers, isn't an option in the menu anymore.
After some digging I found a post illuminating the problem. According to
2K Jake on the 2K forums, "
This issue seems to be related to downloading the DLC to multiple XBox 360s with the same XBox Live Gold account."
The suggested approach is to:
-Remove the game, if installed, from HDD.
-Delete the Genetic Improvements DLC.
-Clear the system cache.
-Create a new silver account.
-Download the DLC with the new account.
-Load the game and grab the title update.
Once all of that is completed, I should be able to have a fully functional copy of the game again. Not sure if you all recall, but starting a new silver account isn't as easy as just clicking through the menu. You have to provide a valid email address and jump through all the hoops of signing up. So instead of being 2 hours into getting the Brass Balls achievement, I'm sitting here bitching about the situation while the game re-installs on my HDD.
Thanks 2K...
