Preferred to play game on an easier setting for this achievement.

Simply keep your shields full as often as you can, if you are a Soldier use your Shield Boost ability to keep them full and take cover often or if you are a Biotic, use the Barrier skill.

Also purchase / find the Shield Interface upgrades as they are good for adding shield bars, you can have up to 6 bars.

All in all you will probably get this achievement without even trying.
