After completing all the previous quests (finding Martin's objects and [optionally] finding "Aid for Bruma"), Martin will inform you that you must travel to Bruma and ask the countess allow the gate to open.
Save after she agrees, I'll explain.
As I've said, "Aid for Bruma" is optional, but I would like to say recommended. As the gates (there is a series of smaller gates that aren't open for interaction, but allow a good number of Daedra and Drummera to enter Tamariel). It is important to stress, MARTIN CAN BE KILLED! If he dies you'll have to reload back to the countessa. However, once you enter the gate, he's not your problem.
With the extra soldiers you have a little breathing room.
Now the Great Oblivion Gate. You will have 15 minutes on a timer that will flash on the HUD. This is not really a problem, run through, fight only when you must. Health and socery potions, invisibility or such and possibly two good weapons (I lost one due to damage), are recommended, but it comes down to speed and thinking. I made it with some minutes to spare but I didn't bother with the towers.
(This is my solution, or opinion). I ran past the Seige Tank. At the end on the left/west side is a cave system, Scortch (or so). Follow the series of exits through, then to the real tower. Once inside, in the tower's base, Kill a demon and take his key. The rest is just like all the other towers. Touch the Sygil stone and you ejected to the battle. The Great Sygil Stone is automatically deducted from your inventory but root around on the ground in front of the Seige Crawler for yours. |
