The fastest way to get this achievement I've found is to do laps around the roller-coaster in the fun park, starting from the base and going all the way round will grab you a few thousand feet and take around one minute. To make this easier I recommend entering focus mode when you reach the part of the roller-coaster which is near the ship's mast. Starting focus mode here will enable you to easily do a full lap and rack up those vital thousands of feet.
