*spoilers*
When you reach the final battle in Act 3 during 'The Last Straw' quest, you MUST side with the templars in your final decision.
A mail at home triggers the final part of the quest, upon which you'll need to head to the gallows and make a choice for siding with Orsino or Meredith.
Simply support Meredith and upon finishing the game, the achievement will unlock
Additionally, this choice does not count as siding with templars/mages for the two secret achievements, nor does siding with either faction throughout the game influence this final decision. |

Must side with the Templars
In order to obtain this achievement, you must side with the templars in the end-game. You are not required to side with the templars throughout the story just during the quest
During the quest The Last Straw
During "The Last Straw" quest at the end of Act III, you will find Orsino and Meredith in a verbal fight. You will be given the option to choose sides while in Lowtown, you MUST side with the Templars(by choosing Meredith instead of Orsino). This achievement will unlock after completing this quest. You will then become viscount at the end of the game once you kill Meredith and reach the last cutscenes.
Should be noted that the choice does not count towards the the achievements "Mage Hunter" and "Arcane Defender".
