Hawkeye
"Draw a walk on a full count in a non-simulated game."
This one is pretty self-explanatory. Obtain a full count and try to draw the walk.
A very good point was made to me. When trying for Hawkeye, you can also try for "No Hole Too Deep" in which you work an 0-2 count and then draw a walk. Both achievements can be won in the one at-bat if you haven't won either achievement yet. |

May want to try this in conjuction with "A Virtue" and/or "No Hole Too Deep". Otherwise the solution for this is as follows:
I suggest doing this with an edited player with max stats or a player with good contact numbers at least. I used Joe Mauer and moved to the first spot in the lineup as the Road Team. That way, your team bats first and Mauer (or whoever) is first to bat. May want to go after an edited pitcher as well.
Now, you likely know already a full count is three balls, two strikes. So your strategy should be to stand there and do nothing until: -You're 3-0 or 3-1. Swing early and miss to get it to 3-2. -You're 0-2, 1-2, or 2-2. Now you'll have to take defensive swings on close pitches to prevent striking out, or watch carfeully to see if you'll get a ball instead.
Now on 3-2, take defensive swings if it is strike or close to one. This is when you flick the analog left or right and you usually shoot it foul. Your good Contact numbers will help here, as players with low contact will miss or pop it up for an out more frequently.
When your sure it's ball four let it sail by for a walk. |
