Coaches can be hired once you reach 'Player level 2' in Career mode. You must first earn enough experience points. These can be earned on any game mode, as long as you use your created player.
To level up, go to the Career Main Screen, My Player, Player Evolution. Now select any of the three options here to level up your player. You will need a total of at least 200XPs to reach level 2.
