This achievement is for being number one for 282 weeks IN A ROW. Their is really no quick way to get this. It will take 30+ hours to unlock. Just play 1 round tournaments. To get to number one you need to play and win every tournament (except DLC) your fist year and you will face off against tiger in the last tournament of the year to claim the number one spot.

I played through on amateur and make good use of the "Y" button right after you hit a shot to skip to the next shot to make it go faster. I got it down to about 11-14 minutes per tournament. You can skip the DLC courses and should be fine. Be careful if you do skip any tournaments and only skip the 2 star tournaments. I didn't start skipping tournaments until the 5th season and even then I only skipped 4 tournaments a year. Only skip tournaments if you have a comfortable lead in the world rankings. Meaning if my avg. point lead was 39 or higher I would skip a tournament. To get a high point lead you need to win every tournament. Never skip two tournaments in a row as that seems to lose you more points. Also never skip a tournament that is 3 stars or more as that also seems to lose you more. Once I got to season 5 (before I skipped any tournaments) I backed out to the dashboard and copied my save to a memory card just in case skipping tournaments dropped me out of the number 1 spot.

Also it gives you around 30 weeks in the transition from season to season and this achievement will take you till your 7th season assuming you don't lose your number one ranking. I however had to go till my 8th season because right after I got my number one ranking (and at the beginning of the second season) I lost my number one ranking when I skipped a 2 tournaments in a row.

I surpassed 282 weeks during the transition from 7th season to 8th season and when the 8th season started I looked at how many weeks I was number one and it said 291 and my achievement still hadn't popped. So I played the first tournament of the year and after the round the achievement popped. So if you pass 282 weeks during the transition then play the very next tournament to pop the achievement.

Please note that it is possible to skip maybe up to 7 tournaments a year (this number does not include DLC as I skipped all the DLC) once you hit 39 avg points (around the middle of 3rd season) but the reason I said not to in my guide is because skipping more than 4 tournaments a year is very dangerous and could lose you your ranking. So if you do want to skip more tournaments I would highly recommend to save to a memory card if you want to skip more tournaments than I put in my guide. For example I tested this out and skipped 4 tournaments in a row and was still 5 avg points above 2nd place in the rankings but then played the next 2 tournaments and won both but still lost my number one ranking after the 2nd tournament win. Makes no sense to me but thats what happened.

Some people are saying that their are only eight seasons and career ends after 8 seasons. If this is true then if you are not number one by the end of the second season you need to restart. Again if anyone can confirm this please leave a comment.

Any feedback is welcome to help me improve upon my guide.

EDIT: There are actually 10 seasons - 2011 to 2020. Credit to Doc Buddha for this information.
