I found this video helpful.
It shows you where the gun (X-43 MIKE) is in the Dark Heart chapter and what it looks like. If you can't hear the video for whatever reason, the important thing to note is that you can't replace ammo for the gun, so you want to take out as many bugs as you can with it to help conserve ammo.
Even after that, I didn't end up having quite enough to get 20 kills going forward, so once I ran out of ammo, I just hit a checkpoint, reloaded the level via chapter select, and ran back and repeated. It counted the kills I already had.
You will have a chance to pick up the gun again several chapters later in Masks Off, but if you want this as soon as you can get it, this is the way.

| This can be unlocked using the X-43 Mike weapon during the mission "Masks Off". Once Hargreave reveals himself in his chamber, look to his right side near where the doors opened. There should be what looks like a large gun inside of a vending machine, that's the X-43 Mike. There is also a second X-43 Mike on the first accessible rooftop after you jump off of the first building's roof (as you wind around to the right there's what looks to be a garage, take the stairs up and its on the ground in front of a big yellow structure). If you happen to miss both of those there is a 3rd on after you ride up both sets of elevators and have to make a run across the highway before it explodes, it is right near the beginning leaning alongside an ammo case. I would recommend using short bursts to conserve ammo and this MUST be done during the same play. If you die the counter simply reverts back to whatever previous count it had before. I believe the next level also has this weapon but "Masks Off" is the easier to get especially since there are enemies all around. |
