How to unlock the Pit Master achievement

This achievement is "Pit Master" - "Discover and fight Hidden Kombatant 3 in Arcade Ladder" for facing Klassic Reptile in the Ladder mode. What you have to do is play on The Pit (The night-time version, with the moon) and get a double flawless and finish the match with a stage fatality. Aaand you have to see Santa or the Witch fly across the screen in front of the moon.

To make things easier I'd suggest playing on Beginner and constantly quit to main menu and start a new ladder until the first fight is on The Pit. Then, wait a few seconds, up to ten I'd say, to see if either shadow flies across, they don't appear immediately. If they don't, hit start and go to player select and pick your character again. It will load the same fight on the same level. This should also work if you mess up getting flawless. Make sure to keep the rounds set to 2, if you change it to 1 it will not work! (credit to swordfischer for confirming this)

You don't need to beat him, the achievement unlocks at the beginning of the fight. Which is good because this version of Reptile has Sub-Zero's freeze powers and Scorpion's spear in addition to his regular acidy move-set. But it is worth it to try, I lost the first round and got 1000 koins, then got 5000 for each of the next two I won, for a total of 11,000!

    Good luck!

Edit: If you're going to thumbs down please comment saying why so I can improve the solution.

BHHCDavrosGot this the other day, bit strange tho, Reptile started off in green, then after i won a round, he turned blue with green blood splatters, and looked like retro Sub Zero. I was playing as Retro subzero

RhyoliticI have had it with this fucking game. 50 restarts of this goddamn map and every time that little bastard Santa or the bitch witch shows up, whichever little twink I'm against gets some nothing little hit. Like tonight, I was against Sektor. Every time the witch or santa showed, and I was doing the stomp with Sheeva, he'd manage to tag me a single time with his teleport uppercut. He NEVER managed to tag me with that whenever the witch/santa weren't present. The one stinking time I managed the double flawless, the goddamn stage fatality didn't work.

I'm starting to hate this game as much as I hate DOA4 and Soulcalibur 4. Which is a lot. This one is more aggravating than the Classic Jade fight, simply because of having to get the map and then having to hope the witch flies across.

AcaelusTFor those out there with this crap game on their backlogs like me... The Quan-Chi method proposed by Osmosis Royal below made all the difference to me with the 2xflawless portion of it.

Very easy to do but be prepared for a frustrating few minutes!

You need to find the Hidden Battle with Klassic Reptile.

Firstly make sure your round counter is set to 2 in the options menu. Now start an Arcade Ladder, i choose Sheeva for 2 reasons.
    1. Her (Down, Up) stomp move & 2. Her easy to do Stage Fatality (Down, Down, Down, Down, X, close distance)

UPDATE - l've had a question on if changing round time counter affects this achievement, answer is I don't know. I would suggest ensuring all options are set to their defaults to be safe and not waste anyones time. If anyone does have an answer to this question please post within the comments thread!

You can choose whoever you like but i recommend someone you are familiar with and can perform their Stage Fatality.

Then select Beginner on the Difficulty Select

Now allow the Arcade Ladder to start and drop down to the first fight. Next to your opponent will be a pitcture of the first stage. This needs to be The Pitt at Night (Look for the large moon). If not let the match start then pause the game and select return to Main Menu. Then rinse the solution from the top. (THIS IS THE FRUSTRATING PART AS GETTING THE RIGHT STAGE CAN TAKE SOME TIME AS IT'S COMPLETELY RANDOM)

Once you get the right stage and the match starts the are 3 factors you need to achieve to fight Klassic Reptile.

    1. Get a Double Flawless Victory
    2. Perform the Stage Fatality
    3. See a shadow of either Santa Claus' Sled or A Witch on her Broomstick fly across the Moon (another throwback to the orignal MK)

Use Sheeva's Stomp Move (Down, Up) to get 2 Flawless Victories, but keep an eye out at the moon at the rear for either shadow (Usually quite early on). If you get to FINISH HIM/HER and have not seen the shadow DO NOT PERFORM THE FATALITY!!!

Pause and select return to Player Select. Re-Select Sheeva (Your Character) and the match will repeat at the same stage and opponent. Repeat until you see a shadow and the Perform the Stage Fatality. (Also do this if you get hit during the fight & can not then get a flawless win)

After the Victory voice over you will get a loading screen and fight Klassic Reptile in the Pitt Bottom like in the Original MK, Achievement unlocked.

Beat Him however and recieve 5000 Koins per Round

HyperZoanoid81I'm not aware of any issues with the clock time, but I have never tried it out. If anyone has done this on by changing the timer options please post! For clarity however I would suggest have all the settings set to their default settings as the achievement is a throw back to the original MK and changing then may affect the achievement, as it does with the rounds.

A BatwomanYes the time clock effects this achievement I had it set to off did the 2 flawless victories and stage fatality didn't work tryed to pause it but couldn't so quit to the menu and kept trying til the stage appeared. The timer it should be default which is "90" seconds and 2 Rounds.

    Also I used Johnny Cage and spammed the his triple punch attack: ( X ) ( X ) ( X)
The Announcer has to say "FLAWLESS VICTORY" for each Round in case you get hit once and think your in the clear. You can't get hit.

If the opponent goes down just use the d-pad and forward then spam the X button for them not to have a chance to fight back.

Johnny Cage Stage Fatality: Down, Back, Forward, RT at close range

BoGcHiKaJust wanted to let others know that you can set the timer to 30 seconds. I kept it on 2 rounds and I got this achievement only minutes ago before writing this.

I used Quan Chi because I kept getting tagged with Sheeva which was extremely annoying so I used Quan Chi's Trance move (Back, Forward, A) and let them go for a little walk before doing it again. When I got tagged I used Quan Chi's health regen move (Down, Back, B). As long as you use the enhanced version (pressing RT when doing down, back, B) you will get the health regen guaranteed.
His stage fatality is: Back, Forward, Down, Y. Make sure you're close and do it fast enough! I stuffed it up once but managed to press start quick enough to go back to player select thank god!

It took me quite a few retries but finally got this frustrating achievement!

Something that will make this a little less frustrating is choosing Quan Chi for your character, and I'll tell you why. Even if you get hit you can restore your health and still have it count as flawless.

His move 'Skeletal Boost' will either give you a damage or health boost. The boost last for like 3 seconds or so and then can be repeated. If you want to restore your health just do this move (Down, Back, B) and keep doing it until you get health boost, then try not to get hit while its boosting. Also if you enhance the move by holding RT when you press B in the combo it will give you a health boost and a damage boost at the same time.

This is the important part. As long as you finish the round with 100% health it is counted as a flawless! As far as I know Quan Chi is the only character that can regen health and I am also pretty sure I am one of the first people to figure this out.

I used this move to get a flawless on Shao Khan!
    Thanks,

    Os
