This is very easy if you use the Wielding Steel deck you get of Gideon Jura. The cards cost little mana and can almost start chipping his life from start. When I played Karn and killed him he hadent layed down one single creature. |

Karn is the last Planeswalker in the campaign.
He uses a Blue Artifact deck which contains a lot of high cost cards as well as colourless cards.
This also unlocks an Avatar Award.
Key cards of his: Darksteel Colossus 11 Artifact Creature - Golem \ Trample, Indestructible, Returns to Library if put in Graveyard. 11/11 This card is hell to fight against as it cannot be destroyed. However you can attach Arrest, and Tap it to keep it useless. It can be avoided by flying.
Duplicant 6 Artifact Creature - Shapeshifter \ Imprint — When Duplicant enters the battlefield, you may exile target nontoken creature. As long as the exiled card is a creature card, Duplicant has that card's power, toughness, and creature types. It's still a Shapeshifter. 2/4 This is basically stealing without giving you a chance to get your creature back. It's still an Artifact that can be destroyed, but if he hasn't played this yet, be on the lookout for playing one of your more powerful creatures.
Lodestone Golem 4 Artifact Creature - Golem \ Nonartifact spells cost 1 more to cast. 5/3 Once he brings this out, it spells trouble. As he doesn't have much non-artifact spells it won't affect him much, but you will have a good few. When you have the chance to destroy it, destroy it, it will pay off in the long run. Abilities you have are not spells, so they remain unnaffected.
Mox Sapphire 0 Artifact \ Blue Mana Pray that he/she/it never draws this card. It is an excuse to have one extra Blue Mana on the field. It isn't a Land either so he can play as many as he likes without restrictions. Unless you can guarantee getting rid of this over something else can win the game, you are just going to accept that it gets played. After all you have bigger things to worry about.
Steel Hellkite 6 Artifact Creature - Dragon \ Flying, 2: Steel Hellkite gets +1/+0 until end of turn. X: Destroy each nonland permanent with converted mana cost X whose controller was dealt combat damage by Steel Hellkite this turn. Activate this ability only once each turn. 5/5 Once this is on the field, your cards are going to destroyed in numbers. Take a look at what the converted mana cost on all your cards are, and try to have as many different ones as possible.
Wurmcoil Engine 6 Artifact Creature - Wurm \ Deathtouch, Lifelink, 6/6 Upon death, it creates two tokens: Token - Artifact Creature - Wurm \ Deathtouch 3/3 Token - Artifact Creature - Wurm \ Lifelink 3/3
Golem's Heart 2 Artifact \ Whenever a player casts an artifact spell, you may gain 1 life.
Icy Manipulator 4 Artifact \ 1, Tap: Tap target artifact, creature, or land. It has more than one of these, if he taps your cards with this they still untap on the next untap step.
Quicksilver Amulet 4 Artifact \ 4, Tap: You may put a creature card from your hand onto the battlefield. Make sure he doesn't have a chance to use this. Once it on there you can look forward to seeing those expensive creatures of his on the battlefield for much less cost. It has more than one of these.
Wayfarer's Bauble 1 Artifact \ 2, Tap, Sacrifice Wayfarer's Bauble: Search your library for a basic land card and put that card onto the battlefield tapped. Then shuffle your library. These will help him build his mana, not much you can do about this i'm afraid.
You need to use a deck which can destroy (or better yet Counter) his Artifacts, or a deck that can deal damage quickly before he can pull out the big guns.
If you are going to use a deck that avoids his creatures (such as flying) then you need to have a good defense to back you up. |

| I found this easiest with the standard black deck (I had not unlocked any cards in that deckbefore this match). I tried with the red deck and had little luck getting Karns life down before he dropped some real big artifacts out. |
