Here are the average scores that Ryo will post when you challenge him, so all you need to do is build or purchase a machine that will destroy these scores.
Ryo's scores (on average).
Drag 1/2 mile: 19secs
Wheelie: 600 meters +
Speed trap: 150 - 160 km/h
Drift: 3500pts +
The other races you simply have to beat him to the checkpoints or the finish line.
My cars:
Drag 1/4 mile + 1/2 mile: Zonda 6.7s and 10.6s respectively
Drag wheelie: Zonda 1300 meters. Hit turbo at 3rd gear. Easy!
Speed: Supra with a Ford GT for speed trap challenges.
Drift: Rx8 avg 5000pts without much effort.
Grip: 911 (NOT the GT2!)
Just purchased the best power + traction parts for my cars and for the Supra and 911 lowered the ride height to the lowest, and a wide body kit with maximum downforce. Other than that, no need to tune.
The only problem I had was with the damn "catch-up" feature. On the speed challenges I was constantly slowed down to 140 or 150 km's, when I hit nitro I'd get slowed down to 160. My Supra is more than capable of hitting 180kmh's +.
I played the entire game on casual. By lowering the assists, you also increase the difficulty. No point in making this game harder for yourself! :) |

this is not has hard as it looks. What you have to do is go against Ryo the showdown king. there are 10 events which you have to get through.
First 5 are Speed and Drag
second 5 are Drift and Grip i think
the cars i used were - Mazda rx7 for drift
evo 10 for shootouts and races
supra for wheelie
Dodge charger for drag
and porsche 911 gt2 for the speed challages. which these cars i won. The only difficult one for me was the first drift as ryo kept getting around 3500 points each time other than that it was easy. |

The Showdown King will be available when you beat all other venues (this does not include the kings). He will race you on 8 events, 2 of each type.
At first, the game is quite easy, and you can use the cars you like. If you have any problems getting high scores along the way, here are the cars I used to get to the Showdown King. You can use these cars against him also.
Speed
Main = Toyota Supra (level 2 parts) - not the fastest car around, but very maneuverable, and the game's expectations are lower so you get more points / use it for speed endurance.
Backup = Porsche 911 AWD (maxed out) / you can use it for speed gates.
Note: I also bought a Zonda (fastest car), but it's impossible to drive, easily crashes, and the game wants you to perform way better than you usually can.
Drag
At the beginning of the game, I did all 1/4 mile and 1/2 mile drags with a Lancer Evo. However, once you get Wheelie Competitions, you need a muscle car.
Main = Dodge Challenger, maxed-out, and tuned so the front wheels are all stiff (tire, suspension, etc.) and the rear wheels are all soft. Also tune the height of the car to highest. - This car, once tuned, is really fast and should help you win the 1/4 mile and wheelies. However, I sometimes crashed in the 1/2 mile.
Backup = It could be a good idea to bring another car (maybe the same model but with different tuning) for the 1/2 mile competitions.
Grip
When you start the game, there is a "created" blueprint that you can apply on a Nissan car. It's expensive, but totally worth it. I won all races with this car. Save cash early in the game for this one.
Drift
Mazda RX-7 all the way. Don't max out the stats, it's not necessary, and the game will want you to perform better (I think). I also used a Ford GT500 (not the Shelby, but the one that looks like it) and it worked at first, but I kept losing after the first half of the game.
