As mentioned in other solutions regarding the "Hit the Mitts" routines, the goal is to complete 10 different hit the mitts routines. This means that you can't repeat the same routine multiple times to get the achievement. Also, "missing" takes a pretty flexible meaning. You technically can miss (red arrow) the target and as long as you execute the punch before the trainer changes stances. So if you're starting to get frustrated that all of your strikes aren't on target, that doesn't mean that you're disqualified from getting the achievement.

You can technically do any 10 different routines to get the achievement, but the simplest way to do it is to start from the beginning and advance through the difficulties. This can also prove helpful in tracking which routines you didn't get perfect on.

In summary, as you progress through the Easy Routines, your trainer will introduce different moves that you'll be expected to do by a certain reaction time. When you get to the Medium Routines, they'll start at the beginning of the move list and expect you to have you do them for a longer duration of time, hopefully with a quicker response.

Again, just because you get a "red arrow" when you punch does not mean you still can't get a perfect run. Typically you'll know when you didn't hit all the mitts when the trainer says something along the lines of "Try a little faster next time".
If you know for sure you missed the target, you can always restart the challenge.

I found the fastest way to restart was command Kinect (verbally) "Trainer, Pause Game" *slight pause* "Trainer, Pick Two" *slight pause* "Trainer, Pick Two". You can pause the game using your arms, but this can be helpful if you're getting exhausted and don't want to hold your arms up. (lol)
