Pretty self-explanatory. Finish in the top 3 ten times in a SHIFT race. Shift races are found in the "Shift Race" playlist alongside checkpoint-races, which don't count for this achievement.

Shift races are just like any normal race except you have the ability to shift around. Note however that just racing is usually faster than shifting, so use it only when you're faling behind.

I recommend trying to get a good starting position in qualifying. Not so much for your position on the grid but mostly for your weapon-charge. Often the race will start in slower musclecars, having the ability to swap into something faster early on can be a huge advantage.

Lastly from my experience you don't need to have a full lobby for this to register, you can even do a 1v1 race and it'll still count towards the achievement.

There's s couple things to add to the above solution.

1. I don't think it's quite as important to qualify high. I am not so good at many qualifying events and started out near the bottom mostly. It's more important to try not damaging your car. I usually let others pass me, they all crash up in the first few turns. The damage will kill a lot of their cars and they will need to look for cars. You have to pass through each checkpoint in a car, you can't shift through them. I found that I could wait til my car was almost damaged out before I switch.
2. You have to watch your cars damage closely. There's nothing worse than having your car damaged out right next to a check point and there's no good cars nearby. This screws up a lot of people.
3. Make sure you have at least 1 fast car you can swap with.
I used 1 of the lambos, but any fast car. I didn't like the Pagani because it seemed to damage out easily. But whatever car you like use that as long as it's fast.
4.Be careful driving. You are better off slowing down around corners. This game has a tendency to put trucks or cars wherever you need to go. I saw so many people damage out cause they were trying to corner too fast and either damaging out or just getting knocked all over the road from the traffic.
5. The damage is turned way up so your car damages out much easier than normal.
So far I have only done 5 of these races. All with at least 7 people and I have won all but 1 and I came in 3rd in that one. And I am no great driver. I have just been using these tips above and in the previous solution.
