You do not need to get all three medals in one attempt. So you can go for the gold medal in solo, then do your co-op hardcore run. I found that the level "The Brute and the Beast" (Act 2 in the Madam's play). was the easiest to get gold on and also in co-op the second player doesn't have to do anything, which is good for those living with non gamers.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that this achievement cannot be obtained in the Prologue or Epilogue
