  I've actually found a way to do this on Factory Zero. Throw one of the explosive barrels at the large crate in the SW side to open the path (there are plenty in the area). Use 3 cardboard boxes by the pipe climbing bit, 2 on the floor and one on the pipe to get to the ledge (There's one directly outside the vent, the other two are nearby). Then grab a fire extinguisher and lob it at the gas. Problem solved :D
  
  Note: The actual area to do this is after you go down/up the elevator and meet the doctor and arrive back in the detention area. You will then be told that the doc & prisoners are being poisoned.

  To make it even easier U can break the large crate and put the boxes in the vent and put the fire extinguisher near the (still turned of gas mechanizm) BEFORE U get the mission;) Just do all the preparations when U get to the area the first time:) take down all guards & U'll have plenty of time:)

  Took me a while to figure out that I needed to back in to the shaft with boxes to get them in the room. Worked great otherwise. Thanks b

  I too can confirm that this works. Blowing up the large crate with a barrel, and hitting the green canister to stop the gas with the fire extinguisher, won't negate the Factory Zero achievement.
  
  I posted a comment to the Fuzzy Vengeance guide, which gives a little more information about exactly where this is. It's good to set these things up in advance, if you plan to go this route. Using a gun and then re-loading would of course work too, but I liked the idea of playing forward from the "best" outcome and still go for Factory Zero, which this accomplishes.

  I think the guides here pretty much describe very well what you need to do to obtain this achievement, i just decided to make a small video showing how to do it without using any praxis kits, and it takes about 2 min, just make sure you clear the room of enemy's first.

  This is the "All of the Above" achievement.
  
  You cannot get both this and Factory Zero in the same playthrough (without reverting to a previous save).
  
  In order to get this you need a gun, the lift heavy objects skill and the jumping skill.
  
  When the poison gas is released and you head to the bottom of the prison section, instead of heading to the middle, go to the SW of the outside edge. There is a large crate you can move (with super strength). to reveal a grate. Go into the duct to find a small room. With super jump, you can jump onto the pipes and up onto a ledge, then through another vent. This leads you into a room with a green gas canister on the side opposite where you enter. Go up to it, aim your gun and shoot the container to save everyone and pop the achievement.

  Actually, I did get this done without using any praxis points OR firing a gun...
  
  The other solution points out the method, but just so you are aware: You can destroy the crate with an explosive barrel, snag 2 cardboard boxes and a fire extinguisher and drag them through the air duct that was behind the crate. Use the boxes to jump on in order to get to the next duct, bring the fire extinguisher and chuck it at the gas canister.
  
  You don't even have to go to the mission specific location for this one - I never initiated the standard cutscene of the mysterious guy telling me to choose.
  
  Achievement popped AND I still got Factory Zero. Easy peasy.
