This achievement is obtained through the storyline. Although possible if you stop playing storyline missions and grind levels with trainees.

*spoilers (although minimal)*







You will recruit your first trainee after sequence 3 memory 1 "The Prisoner". Once you finish the last memory in sequence 3, "The Sentinel, Part 2" your first trainee will become a master assassin.
