The boosting method for these "X kills" achievements is very simple and nets in the neighborhood of 150-225 kills per person in every ten minute turn they receive. This obviously varies on how many people you have and which weapon you're using.
Get six people together, and from the game menu select Versus > Xbox Live > Host a match > Player match. You will see the Create Match screen. Here, modify these settings: Game mode: Team deathmatch Map: It makes no difference, most players are familiar with Villa though Max players: 10 Private slots: 9
Now hit right trigger to enter the Advanced menu. On this screen, modify these settings: Respawns: unlimited Round duration: 10 minutes Join in progress: No Random respawn: No
At this point, start the match to enter the Game Lobby screen. You must change a couple more options that only appear here in the lobby. Select Match Settings on the left. then hit right trigger to view the Advanced menu. Change these settings: Lock Teams: No Team respawn: Yes
At this point, you can invite everyone into the lobby.
The person whose turn it is will be on a team all by their lonesome, and the remaining players must simply stand still for the duration of the round. The killer moves to the opposite spawn and takes the entire ten minutes to collect as many kills as they can. The enemy players will continue spawning in the same locations, making it very easy to gun them down. These types of sessions are also ideal for completing the weapons kills achievements, as you will complete at least one per turn.
Work with your boosting partners. Switch to the weapon they killed you with to keep them supplied with ammunition.
This works because when you assign a maximum number of players, the game automatically assumes exactly half of the people will be on each team. This means that, even with Lock Teams off on a six-person match, there are only three player slots on both teams. Because the maximum was set to 10, the game allows five people on a single team. This is also done on team deathmatch because with Random Respawns set to Off the players respawn in the same "base" area, whereas in Deathmatch the option does not exist and the players would be spawned all over the map at random like usual. |
