This achievement unlocks when the Musket weapon's special effect activates. It will randomly activate when a bullet hits a soldier, and is a whirlwind that fultons the soldier away.
There are two ways to get this achievement. The easy way is to find someone with the musket and have them equip the musket as the second weapon in their load out. Then go into the co-op ring with them and access weapons. From there, go into their inventory (up on d-pad) and equip their musket. Then just fire at some soldiers and hope the special activates. EDIT: Got a report that this easy method may not work. EDIT 2: Got multiple reports that this easy method did work for a few people.
The other way is to actually get the musket for yourself. The schematics (in the form of a Ratholos Wing) will randomly drop from the first two Ratholos missions. To unlock these, you first need to clear enough of Chico's briefing files (basically all of them up to the ones about the UFOs). Once enough have been cleared, load up Extra Op 29 as Snake (important: it only works if you load it as Snake). Turn around right away and go to the first zone of that area (with the dock). If all the above conditions are met, there should be a boat with a cat at the first dock; talk to the cat.
That opens up the Ratholos mission. Completing the first mission unlocks Ratholos at Twilight. There are factors that increase the odds that the Wing will drop. Twilight has a higher chance, as does heavily damaging the head, both wings, and the tail; there will be a visible change to each area if enough damage was done. Also putting it to sleep increases the drop rate.
With the wing acquired, an R&D soldier with the "Japanese Patriot" skill is also needed. One can be fultoned in Extra Ops 49, or can be received in a trade with another player. Then just research the Musket (under assault rifles). |
