As Damien correctly states, you cannot let Amy get grabbed at all for one whole level. As he mentions, the first level is indeed the best as it is very short and there really is only one part you need to worry about toward the end. Making a fail run through the last part with Amy though I think can be rather risky especially since you can easily wind up hitting a dead end if you don't know the exact route to take.

There is another way that I found to be easier and risk free. At the final part of the level, you send Amy in a crawl space to press a switch that opens a door to the hall where you will see zombies trapped behind gates. Instead of calling Amy back to you, just LEAVE HER IN THE ROOM. Proceed on your own and when you press the switch that opens the way forward and releases the zombies, just take them all out. There are 4-5 zombies in total and even on the hard difficulty they are very easy. After taking them out, I was able to just stroll to the end of the level worry free.

Just keep an eye out for your weapon condition. Shortly before this final part there is a weapon lying around on the ground that you will come across. Instead of picking it up, save it for in case your weapon should break so you have something to fall back on.
