How to unlock the The Silver Campaign achievement

  • FFX BrotherhoodFFX Brotherhood
    29 Dec 2014 02 Jan 2015 02 Jan 2015
If you check your Ridernet page, you can check the medals under "World Tour" to see which ones you need for the achievement. We need to unlock every single silver variant of the medals.

The first set of badges require us to unlock comics for the characters. Silver Requires us to unlock 6 of these comics. You unlock comics by unlocking the character in the World Tour. Upon reaching a new Mountain range you will be given a challenge against the character who will ride that Ranges Deadly Descent. Beat this challenge and you will unlock the character and their comic. Upon unlocking 6 comics you get the silver.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Next couple of badges require us to beat Griff's time trials or beat him in races at various peaks. For Silver you need to beat him at the peak the game specifies, with 3 unique characters.

I would recommend keeping a list of all the characters you beat each peak with so as to avoid confusion. DLC characters and Griff DO NOT COUNT! They are not members of team SSX and should therefore be avoided. The list of characters is as follows...

    Zoe
    Elise
    Mac
    Alex
    Psymon
    Tane
    Kaori
    Moby
    Ty

The events that need to be beaten with 3 unique characters are as follows...

Africa - Mawenzi - Hush: RACE IT!

Antarctica - Vinson Massif - Off the Grid: RACE IT!

Himalayas - Makalu - Serenity: TRICK IT!

Rockies - Whitehorn Mountain - Curnoe's Moustache: TRICK IT!

Patagonia - Cerro Pollone - Salient: RACE IT!

Alps - Grand Golliat - Hard Currency: RACE IT!

If you are having trouble with any of these, I would recommend checking your gear and making sure your board and gear are up to scratch. EG: Make sure you aren't using a level 3 board if you're level 5/6/7 etc. Also make sure your gear matches the course EG: A Trick board will help a lot for trick events (How about that?). Money can be earned rather quickly either through the World Tour or spamming Global events if you're desperate.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The next set of badges require us to beat so many Deadly Descents and also beating them without using rewinds.

The list of Deadly descents is as follows...

The Rockies - Trees - Use Armour and watch your speed around the trees.

Siberia - Ice - Use Ice Axes and if possible, a wing-suit can help with some jumps.

Patagonia - Gravity - Use a wingsuit and make sure to get lots of air and buildup.

Africa - Darkness - Use a Headlamp and take it steady, also avoid spinning jumping because it throws the light in every direction making it hard to see crevices.

Antarctica - Cold - use a Solar Panel and stick to the light parts of the track. A wing-suit can help to skip some parts of darkness. AVOID TUNNELS AT ALL COST!

Alaska - Avalanche - Use Armour and try get used to the camera angle the game throws at you. Try get in Tricky mode ASAP to have boost in case an avalanche gets close.

Himalayas - Thin Air - Use an oxygen mask. Go fast, the slower you go the quicker you lost oxygen. Hit cn_RB to stop yourself from blacking out.

New Zealand - Pulse Goggles - Take this one slow and learn the ins and outs of the course. If you're going to try and beat this one with no rewind then you also need to beat Griff to the bottom of the track. This is the hardest one to do so I would recommend leaving it (Unless you're going for gold medals in which case you Need to do this anyway)

The Alps. - Rock - Use Armour and just take it slow and steady. Small hops over rocks, try and take the high ground where possible as there is normally a decent ratio of snow to rock higher up. Speed is a killer here if you crash into walls and rocks.

I would personally recommend attempting each track a few times and learning the lay of the land with each map. Once you've done that just attempt and beating it without using rewinds. You only need to beat 6 for Silver, it's all 9 if you're going for Gold. Therefore for just silver I recommend...

    The Rockies
    Sibera
    Patagonia
    Alaska
    Africa
    Himalayas.

Simply because I found these ones the easiest. The game DOES NOT keep track of which ones you beat without using rewinds, so make sure to keep your own personal tally. Remember, just take it slow and learn the maps before attempt a no-rewind run.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Finally, You need to knock 10 riders off their boards in World Tour. How do you knock a rider off their board? Simply crash into them and they will take a quick tumble. Some people claim they get this through normal play, however I only had around 10 when I Gold medalled every other award in World Tour. If you need to boost some knock-downs like me, I recommend a low level race and simply trying to knock as many opponents off their board at the start as possible.

EG: Try get some speed and then ram or boost into them before they take off too far down the track. You can "Restart Drop" without losing your count. So if you can knock down someone pretty early on, restart the drop and keep doing it. It's 10 times for a silver medal, 25 times for Gold.

    Good luck smile
