Items are not completely random!

They drop based on level/difficulty. That means hard level = high level items only.

Level 10-15 items drop only in 3: Metal Slag Trail. Since the two required items (Astronaut's Helmet and E.V.A. Pack) are level 12 and 15 items, you will get them in 3: Metal Slag Trail on Normal difficulty, level Factory!!!

Replay only that level, it has the very highest chance of giving you the items!

You simply have to find, buy and equip the astronaut items and play through any level wearing them. The idea behind this achievement is that the astronaut gear pretty much sucks as they kind of make you weightless and it really holds you back, so don't do this on a later level.

Obtaining items is random so there's no quick or easy way to do this. You find items in the game world that unlock items in the shop (they're color-coded crates with icons on them letting you know what kind of item you just found). So just keep playing until you find and can afford these two items:

Astronaut's Helmet (Level 12, ~14,000 nuts)
E.V.A. Pack (Level 15, ~13,000 nuts)

I didn't write down the exact prices but that was about what they cost. You should be holding about 30,000 in order to get this achievement.

Money is not a big problem as you progress through the game, but if you want to do this quickly and early, you can do "Downtown Roadblock" (level 6) twice. It nets you about 15,000 for a full, decently-played round. This was a very easy achievement when my character was level 28, probably not so much if yours is level 5.
