This is a difficult achievement and will take you some time, though adjusting the sliders will make this achievement much easier. You'll also want to get used to timing your swings as well as using the defensive swing (pusing the right stick either left or right).
To begin, edit the sliders so that the pitcher throws nothing but strikes (as the majority of the 10 pitches they throw will have to be pitches fouled off after getting two strikes) as well as adjusting your batter eye frequency to max (as this will help you see if it's a ball or a strike). If it helps, you can also edit the opposing pitchers to have nothing but four seam fastballs, so you don't have to worry about adjusting speeds.
Once you're in game, let the count go to 0-2. After that, use the defensive swing (right stick left or right) to foul off the next pitch. Keep track of how many pitches you've fouled off. Once you've counted seven, immediately pause the game and adjust the sliders so that the pitcher throws nothing but balls. Sit back and watch as the pitcher throws you three balls, unlocking "A Virtue" as soon as you face the tenth pitch. Keep in mind that sometimes the pitcher gets lucky and throws a strike, even when the strikezone tendency is set to 0, so if you see the batter's eye light up in the middle of the zone or see a pitch that looks too close, don't be afraid to foul it off. Don't get frustrated if you get a hit or strike out. Just try again on the next batter until you unlock it. |
