This seems to be fairly repeatable now. Step 3 is the only tricky one. Make sure to place the bombs as close to the shown spot as possible.
1 - bomb
2 - bomb
3 - explosion
4 - bomb
5 - bomb
6 - explosions

Bomb 4 needs to explode the gerbil more vertical than horizontal.
Bomb 5 needs to be slightly below the purple beam.
Bomb 2 is color coded (green) to show the direction the gerbils should go (green arrow).
Step 6 is clean up and might need a few mini explosions.
