The easiest way by far to get this achievement (and the other Boss cheevos) is to be on the Easy action difficulty as the Bosses are pushovers.

You fight the Split Worm at the end of the Nightmare Shopping Mall, after getting the Moonstone and opening the door with it. Have your Handgun ready beforehand.

The Split Worm takes anywhere from 4-6 Handgun bullets to kill on Easy which is pretty laughable for such a big monster. Just shoot it a bunch of times with the Handgun when it comes out of one of the tunnels and opens its "mouth". You really shouldn't have any problems with this one.
