Each of dantes 3 swords (Rebellion, Vendetta and Merciless) requires 5000 red orbs to get to level 2 and a further 10,000 to hit level 3. So 45k is required overall, swords can be upgraded at power up menus before missions or at any golden statue of time scattered throughout the game.
Also might be worth noting that if you don't intend to use one or more of the swords at all, then you can save up the orbs and upgrade them, get the achievement and then quit out and when you reload you'll have your orbs back to spend on something more useful to you. |
