Assuming you pick a team and stick with it this will probably come naturally while unlocking everything. You don't need to use the character at all, just have them as one of the three in your team. I suppose the best way to accumulate missions played is to keep a character in your team the entire time you are grinding wallpapers and costumes. You'll be playing more than 100 battles. Much more.
