After you kill the Kayran you can collect samples from its body. Don't discard or sell these items though as you can use them to make a special armor piece. Once you have these items you can head to Berthold Candeleria in Flotsam's Nonhuman District. If you have the right materials you can make some Kayran Skin Armor. To make the armor you will need the following items:

Kayran Armor

14x Robust Cloth
6x Hardened Leather
1 Kayran Skin
8x Twine
375 Orens

You can find or buy all of these items apart from the Kayran Skin. You can buy Twine, Hardened Leather and Robust Cloth from Fioravanti who is just across from the Inn. He also sells diagrams on how to make the Hardened Leather and Robust Cloth.

Hardend Leather

3x Leather
2x Oil
5 Orens

Robust Cloth

3x Cloth
1 Twine
1 Diamond Dust
5 Orens
