Black Ops - 20G
Sneak through the lower camp without raising the alarm.
Without spoilers, this is obtained only if you sided with Iorveth at the end of Chapter One and during the second part of "Where is Triss Merigold" quest in Chapter Two where Phililppa guides you through the mist to Henselt's camp.
After Philippa guides you through you'll be stopped by Vernon Roche and have a small conversation. He'll tell you that there is a couple of routes in which to gain access into the camp, one through a brothel encampment which leads to a tunnel with monsters and the other is a path to the East along the shore in which you'll sneak through Henselt's camp. For this achievement, you'll want to take the path East and sneak through the camp.
Once finding your way to the camp you'll go into a "sneaking" stance like that of when you were in the La Valettes' dungeon. This is where you'll want to make a save as the achievement goes into effect here. I won't be going into step by step detail as it is pretty easy to do. The cardinal rules are to stay out of the line of sight of guards, stick to the shadows, and go slowly so you don't run into any guards that may be walking out of an entrance.
Near the end you'll come to a chef that is cooking in a cauldron that will notice you, when he does be sure to go up to him quickly and spam the A button as you'll be prompted to cast the Axii sign on him to calm him down and rest. Once that is over head towards the gate indicated by the marker on the minimap and wait till all the guards come out from it. Once you go through it there will be a lone guard outside the door looking through a spyglass, stun him with the X button and proceed down the hill path and into the tunnel entrance. This is where the achievement will pop if you didn't cause alarm.
If you mess up or get caught (going into battle mode) just restart from your last save. The chef part kept baffling me until I figured out I had to approach him and was able to reload a previous autosave. So the achievement is still attainable if you need to reload a save. |
