The first pickaxe you make will be wooden, the next will be a stone pickax, or maybe iron. For a stone pickaxe, go to your crafting bench
Open your inventory and make sure you have two sticks and three cobblestones. Craft away!

For this achievement you'll need to craft a "better" pickaxe. So an upgrade from wooden would be stone, iron, gold, or diamond. For this guide we'll deal with stone. Cobblestone can be found underground, in caves, and at mountain bases. Punching or mining will harvest blocks ob cobble for you to craft. You'll need 3 cobblestones and 2 sticks to craft a stone pickaxe. A workbench is also needed to craft on.
Upon crafting the better pickaxe you'll net 15G!

I have made a video on how to do this step by step
Step 1 - Chop down a couple trees with your fist (you will get an achievement for this)
Step 2 - Hit (X) on Xbox version to open up crafting menu
Step 3 - Create as much wooden planks as you can (Hit A on the first item that shows up)
Step 4 - Build as much sticks as you can but leave about 4 wooden planks
Step 5 - Keep your crafting menu open and create a crafting table. (You might need to go chop more trees down and make more wooden planks and sticks.)
Step 6 - Go to your crafting table and hit (RB)
Step 7 - First thing on your tools is the wooden pickax (Simply press A to equip one.)
Step 8 - Chop down some stone (Its all over and its grey) 3 Blocks
Step 9 - Once you get about 3 - 5 Cobblestone go back to your crafting table
Step 10 - Press (RB) once your there and go back to where you made the wooden pickax.
Step 11 - Press down on the (D-pad) and select any Pickax besides the wooden one. Easiest way is to just make a Stone Pickax (1 Down)

First make sure you have a wooden pickaxe.
(here's a guide:
)
Then just dig a few holes down untill you hit stone. Mine three stone. (it becomes cobblestone, that's fine)
If you don't have 2 spare sticks, then go get some. (break down tree + use crafting table.)
If you do or do now, head back the table and go to the wooden pick. Scroll down ONE and thats the cobblestone pick. Make it. ('A')

To those trying to get this Achievement, plus the other 18 Achievements to this game (Minus Leader of the Pack), I have constructed a world for getting them and I'm making it public to everyone (It's all tested and works correctly)
If you want help getting any missing Achievements, post a comment on my solution and a friend request, after that I'll try to get on as soon as I can to help getting the Achievements (bear in mind, I run on Australian Eastern Standard time - Best time is anything after 3 or 4pm on a weekday, Weekends are whenever)
The only requirement I want from you to have is a mic, make life for us a bit easier

I have a world set up for guaranteed achievements in Minecraft. The achievements are on two different worlds but are very easily attainable and take no time at all! :-)
