Here is a video I made which shows you how to get the saddle easily and then the best way to get the achievement.

On 10/16/12, Minecraft updated to 1.8.2 which disabled a lot of the seeds that allowed you to spawn next to a saddle.
Well, in this video I show you a work-around to get the seeds to work. Furthermore, how to get the Achievement.

First things first, you need to get yourself a saddle from a random chest spawn. You'll find chests in any of the random dungeon / cave areas dotted around the maps.
Finding a saddle is very luck based but you can increase your chances by specifically selecting certain "seeds" when starting a new game. I used the seed, "Dead Mau5" as this has a guaranteed saddle spawn in one of the dungeons. If you spot the giant floating structure from where you spawn, head towards and underneath that to find a cave. There is a chest inside with a saddle, bucket, iron ore etc. You will spawn in a slightly different place each time, but using this central structure will help you to find your way.
With your newly aquired saddle in hand, find a piggy and build a wall round it ASAP then put a door on the front to keep him contained. There are numerous pigs on this map so finding one will not take long at all.
Once he's trapped, build a large pit in front of the door. This will be your "cliff". Once you've dug sufficiently low, saddle up on the pig and open the door. If he doesn't walk out on his own accord, get off and give him a little push, making sure to mount the swine as he's falling and this will pop the achievement.
I happened to be capping when I earned this achievement so have attached a video which shows you the rough idea of how to pop the achievement. Sadly, it was night time ingame when I was recording so the video is a little on the dark side. I've tried to brighten it somewhat but can't do much more with it sadly.

To get this you have to place a saddle on a pig and then ride it off a ledge sufficiently high to cause the pig damage when it lands. Locating a pig atop a cliffside is best, but you can also dig a vertically-sided pit four or more blocks deep near to your target pig and try to get it to fall in once you're on it's back. Once you've placed the saddle on the pig with the left trigger, press left trigger again to ride it. Once it's on the pig, the saddle can't be removed and will be lost if the pig dies, so it's worth saving your game before your attempt.
What makes this hard is that you can only find saddles inside treasure chests in dungeons, so this is quite a tricky achievement to attain. If you're very lucky, you might come across a dungeon accidentally while tunnelling, or even more rarely, they can be visible on the surface, but the most likely way you'll find them is by exploring cave systems as all dungeons are linked to one of these. Dungeons are recognisable because they have cobblestone / mossstone walls (most natural cave walls will be stone, dirt or gravel), and contain a monster-spawner (a small cage containing flames and a small, spinning monster avatar), as well as monsters that have spawned - either spiders, skeletons or zombies. The dungeon will also contain one or more chests containing various treasure. If you're lucky, you'll find a saddle amongst the items. |

POST 1.8.2. update

Coordinates: X: 35, Y: 100, Z: -121
There's a cave with two chests, both containing saddles and a monster spawner.
I followed the same method most others spoke to. Fencing in a pig after acquiring some wood and making a craft bench.
Proceed to dig out a pit underneath ( I went about seven deep, mighta been overkill) the pig's pen, leaving a one block layer of soil intact as the floor to the pen.
Hop into your pen (I'd recommend a save right about meow) and dig out a couple squares of the floor to expose the pit. Saddle up and hopefully it's not too long before piggy takes a tumble.
Do not hit your pig, hitting it too many times will cause you to kill it and lose your saddle. |

| The seed I put was 115. The dungeon should be a few feet from you. I made this video personally. So, I hope it helps and enjoy. Sorry for the blur, but it is useful.

In the post 1.8.2 update TUTORIAL world there is a monster spawner near x-246/z-297. The chamber is not very far underground y53, so dig about 10-12 blocks strait down and you should find two chest, one of which has a saddle. Once you find it you can follow any of the solutions for wrangling a pig.
There is also a saddle chest ay X:-220, Y:41, Z:278. Credit goes to Lebrohnski for finding this one.

I Have a world that i created where i already have the pig trapped and i have a saddle all you would need to do is:
1. Walk to me (This will not take longer then 30 seconds)
2. I give you the saddle
3. you put saddle on the pig and hop on it
4.I break one dirt block
5. You fall with the pig
6. Guaranteed Achievement Unlocked :)
I will help anyone with this achievement anytime i am on

Ok so first of all if you need help with this achievement (and/or into the nether) just message me on Xbox and i will help you get this achievement when it is convenient for both of us. Also, I will try to get a video in for this guide. Now to the actual guide. So i used the seed 888, put the difficulty to peaceful (look at Skycaptin5's guide if you want a video) and it would either spawn me in the water or on the sand. So you are going to want to go forward and right and go through a little valley, and on your left you should be a little lake. Past that lake will be a dungeon and in the chest will be a saddle. Take the saddle.
Now the first thing to do is go and chop down some wood. (A couple trees or 10 wood should be sufficient) Now turn the wood into wooden planks and you should have 40 planks. Make a crafting table, and turn the rest of the planks into sticks (72 sticks). Now make fences with the sticks and you should have 12 fences. Now go find a pig and start putting the fence around him. You need for him to walk into the fence and then you can finish the fence around him. There should be 4 blocks for him to roam in, 2x2, and the fence should be 4x4.
Now start digging a pit right in front of the fence. It should be 5 blocks high, 4 blocks wide (the way the fence goes), and 2 blocks long. To get out just destroy one of the walls right outside of the pit and then block yourself up (jump up and put a block under yourself) After that put a block right behind the fence and jump in with the pig. Put your saddle on the pig, and start destroying the two fences right by the pit. Then hop on the pig, wait for him to be right by the edge, and when he's right by the edge of the pit give him a little push (punch him) and he should fall in, if not, rinse and repeat. |

I found a saddle on the tutorial level at patch level 10 (most recent as of May 7, 2013) by travelling above ground to the following coordinates:
X: -64, Y: 71, Z: -252
At those coordinates, I found a single block of dirt missing in the ground. I dug STRAIGHT down in that spot until I fell into a cavern. No more than 15 steps away, I found the moss-stone of a dungeon, with a mob-spawn under a waterfall, and a chest containing a saddle.
I hope this helps others who are looking for the saddle in the tutorial level on the latest update! Let me know if this works for you! |

Step 1) Find a saddle and keep it safe
Step 2) Dig a hole 3x10 and 2 deep
Step 3) At one end of the hole dig down 15 to 20 blocks and fence it off
Step 4) Trap a pig in your hole
Step 5) Put the saddle on the pig and ride it with (LT)
Step 6) Get a friend to break the fences and push you down the hole.
The fall should have been enough to hurt the pig, if not kill it.

To those trying to get this Achievement, plus the other 18 Achievements to this game (Minus Leader of the Pack), I have constructed a world for getting them and I'm making it public to everyone (It's all tested and works correctly)
If you want help getting any missing Achievements, post a comment on my solution and a friend request, after that I'll try to get on as soon as I can to help getting the Achievements (bear in mind, I run on Australian Eastern Standard time - Best time is anything after 3 or 4pm on a weekday, Weekends are whenever)
