Play the Iron Clad mission on regular difficulty. You can leave your tank at the beginning for the whole mission and use RPGs you find on the floor to take out the tanks and choppers or you can keep your tank just a few spaces behind you as long as you take out the tanks and helicopters quickly.
In co-op the person in control of the tank can move the tank backwards.
Tip: Wait for choppers to stop moving before you tell your tank to fire or you may miss and the reload time is slow.

| This is a video solution I made for the 3 achievements for the "Iron Clad" mission. It shows spots to use for beating on veteran (video played on veteran difficulty) how to beat the level without your tank taking damage, and what the level looks like in order to complete it.

| I would say the best way to get this achievement is to keep your tank back far behind you as you clear out the enemies. Do this on the easiest difficulty (Regular) so you don't die as much. If you keep the tank way back behind you, things like RPGs will most likely not hit it. As you move along through the level, you will run across suicide bombers. They will run straight toward the tank and kill themselves, thus dealing damage. Listen to your teammate on the comm station as he will tell you when their are RPGs, Tanks, and Helicopters inbound. Suicide bombers can be noted by the red glow on their chest. Make sure you kill them as fast as you can. Other than that, you will come across around 4 helicopters and two tanks. You can use your own tank to destroy them, but I recommend using your secondary, the SMAW, as it can lock on helicopters, making them easier to hit. If you need ammo, there is an ammo cache on the tank for your use when you need ammo for your SMAW. Other than that, play it safe with the tank and kill all the suicide bombers and RPG troopers as fast as you can to prevent them from hurting the tank. Just make sure you killed everything and slowly move the tank up. Don't rush, as patience is key to this achievement. Good luck! |

Only certain things can hurt your tank. Gunfire and grenades thrown by soldiers cannot hurt your tank. RPGs, Suicide bombers, and enemy helis/tanks can cause damage. Keep this in mind as your progress your way through the level. Try to position your tank so that you are behind at least some cover or are in a spot where you can maneuver out of the way. Once you make it to the beach, take your time and watch out for the final wave of soldiers and helicopters. I made the mistake of rushing at the end and getting blown up right before completion.
If you can, do this achievement coop. I earned it on veteran, so doing it on regular should be a breeze. |
