Chapter 3, Checkpoint 12

I can confirm that you do have a checkpoint and you can 'let' it reload after the first 7.

If you miss, stop shooting, Passo will get shot up, hit A to retry. Per some comments you yourself can shoot Passo to speed up the process. If this happens after the first 7, it will put you back to the cutscene after #7.

The first 7 are pretty straight forward, aim center mass; 8-10 come fairly quickly from the left and you only have the side body to hit. Being smooth is key, nothing too difficult. The remaining four shouldnt be a problem once you get to them.
