This one is easy to miss. The only way to get into the Blighted Manse is during the quest Duchess in Distress, which has a fairly narrow window.
First, make sure you do the Arousing Suspicion quest which will be available after you first gain entrance to the castle in Gran Soren. Mirabelle will be standing just inside the main castle door and will tell you Aelinore wants to meet at night. Complete the quest (which is fairly easy) before finishing Aldous' tasks.
Once you've completed Aldous' tasks, you will get a quest to go the Encampment and then come back to see something attacking the city. After finishing that, you will start the Deny Salvation quest next time you talk to Aldous. At this point, you should be able to find Mirabelle inside the castle gate but outside the main door next to the stairs. She will tell you that Aelinore has been locked up in the Blighted Manse and activate the quest, after which just following the quest will get you there.
Make sure you complete the Duchess in Distress quest before you complete Deny Salvation. Depending on what you've done during the game, Duchess in Distress may become impossible to complete if you wait until starting The Final Battle quest. |
