So here is the workaround which makes all three score related achievements much more manageable.
If you exit out of the game and then continue it, you get the 3 second countdown to make your moves before your droplitz are even deployed.
To add to this, if you continue a game, make changes on the grid, exit before the game starts, then continue again. The changes you made before will remain, effectively you can set up full houses before letting the game actually start. Make sure that your score has added on to your overall score before exiting and repeating.
You don't need to employ this tactic the whole way through, I generally used it the instant my screen turned red. Leave it too long and it's difficult to bank points and exit out for another restart.
