The key to unlocking this achievement is to beat Dad's high score on the Prologue stage of 119,000 points Because the high score for dad is usually above standard, here are a couple pointers to help you out:
1) Take your time--Even though you can get bonus points for clearing the stage quickly, it will cause the other bonuses to go down drastically.
2) Go on the Sparkle Hunt--This is very important. Outside of using your super to get quick kills, regular zombies can be fell with three Y attacks. Just get around 3-4 zombies to group up towards you and do one Y attack and repeat to get a simple 3 Sparkle Hunter combo.
3) Get the medals--Be sure to look everywere for the regular gold zombie medals. They are hidden in recycle bins, soda vending machines and out in plain sight. Also, you will get platinum medals for doing Sparkle Hunter combos, so take advantage of pointer #2 whenever you can.
4) Don't die--There's a very good reason why you shouldn't get game over when trying to beat Dad's score. Every continue you use after death incurs a 5,000 point penalty. Also, just restarting from the last checkpoint via the pause menu also counts as a continue.
With these pointers, I was able to get over 360 regular medals and 50 Sparkle Hunter kills, plus I didn't die even once, allowing me to finish with a personal best of 126,000 points. Keep at it and the achievement will be yours. |
