The 5-Step Program to be a Landowner

Step one: (obviously) buy the Hearthfire DLC
Step two: achieve Thane Status in one of the following cities: Dawnstar, Falkreath, and Morthal
Step three: wait for the Courier
Step four: speak with the Servant of the Jarl (Falkreath: Takla, Morthal: Pactur) and ask them if you can buy a house
Step five: pay 5000€ and you are a Landowner, Achievement unlocked

visit the other two cities to get the Land Baron Achievement
